The Earth House Vision Statement

The Connecticut College Earth House functions in support of the college's commitment to social responsibility by acting as a resource for the members of the college and local community, as an example of Earth-friendly living, and as a foundation for community activism. Earth House's vision is:

To provide an on-campus model of humane and socially responsible living through the use of appropriate technologies, purchasing choices, and attitudes in congruence with a society focused on sustainable integration with the Earth and all of its inhabitants.

To support and promote efforts aimed at the advancement of justice, equality, and sustainability in all aspects of the community.

To provide a resource and information center for progressive activism, and an environment where people can discuss ideas and concerns.

To help create a community that will be actively involved in a changing society.
